Genshin Impact lawyers ognosphere has issued a subpoena to Discord to obtain the personal details of a user named Ubatcha, who is also one of the top leaders within Genshin Impact’s Western community.
The report by TorrentFreak(opens the file in a new tab) says a newly submitted subpoena(opens in a new tab) and DMCA takedown notice(opens in a new tab) specifically focus on Ubatcha as well as the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor Discord servers that they operate on.
Lawyers representing Cognosphere assert that content uploaded on WFP from Ubatcha “infringes Cognosphere’s sole rights under the copyright law” concerning Genshin Impact.
The accompanying DMCA provides “images of artwork, images, screen captures and other material from Genshin Impact” The DMCA also contains screenshots of Discord posts by Ubatcha that date up to July 2022.
It’s enough to say that Cognosphere likely isn’t looking for Ubatcha’s details to say hi. The subpoena states, “such information is only used to protect Cognosphere’s interests,” which means you won’t need to look at the text too much to understand the legal actions that could occur. Abacha might not receive a lawsuit today, but it’s evident that Cognosphere is following his trail.
It’s not the first Genshin Impact’s designers have been pursuing leakers. The so-called “Leaker Hunt Decree, a term used by the community that is a riff on the Vision Hunt Decree of Genshin Impact’s Inazuma story arc, has stayed the same since the considerable change of 1.5 explosions.
Twitter post(opens in a new tab). The month before, moderators on the Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit confirmed that the channel was notified of DMCA notifications(opens in a new tab) following an extensive, near-unprecedented leak allegedly pulled directly out of Hoyoverse servers. In the past, Ubatcha stayed clear of this incredibly suspect information.
“I do not support any methods by which this data was obtained. I did not have any involvement in obtaining or distributing the data in question,” he said in a tweet (opens in new tab).
Although it’s not uncommon, it’s quite a significant event because Ubatcha is the Leaker of this game’s Western community and WFP is the primary source for information about the game’s pre-release. Both are integral to the game’s primary leak subreddit, which has more than 330,000 members.
Abacha has more than 45,000 fans on Twitter, while the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor server boasts more than 270,000 followers. Numerous data miners and beta testers are also involved in Genshin Impact leaks, which can fuel websites like Genshin Honey and Project Amber.
However, Ubatcha is usually the first person to reveal, collate, and verify essential leaks. It’s hard to quantify the level of trust and popularity. Abacha is with gamers who want to discover any upcoming Genshin Impact updates before they’re fully revealed.
Abacha hasn’t tried to conceal his role as a leaker, aside from deleting some posts from time to time and occasionally going silent on specific social media sites. He’s not limited to Genshin Impact and has shared leaks of Hoyoverse’s Honkai Star Rail, the game, which has yet to be released. Heck, WFP has several channels and admin roles, all categorized as “leaks.”
Yesterday, Ubatcha shared guides for two previously unreleased Genshin character names, Scaramouche and Faruzan. WFP first published the guides. The way this subpoena and DMCA will affect Ubatcha and WFP’s leaks in the future is yet to be determined.
Genshin Impact update 3.3 adds an entire trading card game.
Genshin Impact’s latest 3.3 updates will be available on December 7th. The main feature is a brand-new fully-fledged trading game.
On November 25th, earlier today, HoYoverse pulled back the curtain on Genshin Impact 3.3 with the trailer you can see below. One prominent feature new to the version is that it includes the Genius Invocation trading card game that allows players and NPCs alike to compete against each other.
For Genius Invocation, two competitors are playing Character Cards against one another. The goal in the game is to eliminate all opponents with Normal Attacks and Elemental Skills and Elemental Bursts derived from your Character Cards. The goal is to swap your cards around to start attacks.
But changing cards to trigger an attack uses Elemental Dice, which you have to roll at the beginning of every round to create different effects on the game. If you can defeat NPCs in the realm in Genshin Impact, you’ll accrue cards and Dynamic Skins purchased from the store to enable Genius Invocation.
Scaramouche often referred to as The Wanderer, is set to be available for play within Genshin Impact update 3.3 as a five-star Anemo catalyst player. In addition, there, Faruzan, a four-star Faruzan, will be revealed as an archer of the Anemo, and the return of Arataki Itto will conclude the first phases of 3.3’s Event Wishes.
A plethora of minigames will also be available in update 3.3. The first is Akitsu Kimodameshi. In this game, the player will meet Arataki Itto to master several brick-breaking minigames. The Across the Wilderness event requires players to gather Wilderness Balloons within a specific time frame. The Windtrace and the Misty Dungeon events will also return, but with new features.
